Latest Beauty Buys

This week off from school has been really spectacular. Not only did I finish my rank list, but I watched hours of television that had been piling up on my DVR, finished two fine pieces of literature, cleaned out my iTunes library, and organized my bathroom drawers. Well, what's a girl to do when she's accomplished everything on her to do list? Why, shopping, of course!

(Starting from left to right)
Chanel Glossimer in Pleasing. The ideal neutral, sheer to medium coverage, non-sticky gloss. This could easily be the cousin of the Glossimer in the color Unity with it's similar bronze metallic appearance, with the only difference being the sparkle is pumped up a few notches.

OPI I Vant To Be A-Lone Star. First, let me comment on how dumb the first half of the name is. Am I missing something here? If so, please let me know. It's a lovely pale blue color with hints of pale gray undertones loaded with silver shimmer that really only stands out in the sun. It screams spring and is the perfect antidote to all the deep berry and forest greens that reigned supreme on my digits this winter.

OPI Teenage Dream. Ah, the coveted Katy Perry collection, which includes that dreadful Black Shatter topcoat. I had to go to two different stores to track this one down and am I ever glad that I did. It's light pink color sprinkled with chunky holographic glitter amongst a sea of smaller multicolored glitter. Very youthful and saccharine and exactly what I would expect from the pop singer. This is the second pink I've fallen for in a row (the first one being OPI Princesses Rule!).

Bobbi Brown Blush in Nectar. I was skeptical at first when the sales associate came at the apples of my cheeks with this retina-searing shade of matte blush, but I was instantly sold  after seeing how much this warm pink hue brightened my face. A little bit of this blush goes a long way, so apply with a light hand.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Bronze. This is the famous product that spawned a thousand drugstore knockoffs. I love that this is versatile, as it can be used for eyeshadow, highlighter, bronzer, or blush. Hopefully it will give me that ethereal, gorgeous glow that Jennifer Lopez always has on American Idol.

Kiehl's Facial Fuel Energizing Scrub. I went to the Kiehl's counter specifically for a gentle exfoliator that wouldn't dry out my skin too much and this fit the bill, even though it's part of the men's product line.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. This is my second bottle of this product. I use this 2-3 times per week underneath my moisturizer before I go to sleep and wake up with soft, bright skin.

  1. Kiehl's Midnight Recovery serum looks so nice. I love a rich moisturizer for bedtime. Sleeping really does help the skin! I love this post, it is always fun to see peoples' favorite beauty items. I will be doing a post soon on this amazing skin illuminator I just got.

  2. I'm in the market for a new blush. I'll have to check out Bobbbi Brown's Nectar. I'm not a fan of having shimmer on my face--other than eyelids. So matte blushes are a must for me (:
